Delhi HC rejects Niva Bupa’s trade mark claim against influencer, calls IP suit a misuse of jurisdiction
The Delhi High Court ruled that Niva Bupa Health Insurance Company Limited’s suit against a social media influencer over allegedly disparaging posts does not qualify as an intellectual property dispute and cannot be heard by the Intellectual Property Division.
The suit, CS(COMM) 1032/2026, was found to be not maintainable before the IP Division because it did not concern the infringement of any intellectual property right belonging to either plaintiff.

Small-scale fisheries a big threat to rays
Because the research team wanted to track real changes in the population, they divided the catch by fishing effort, which covers both the number of vessels and how efficient their gear is.
The researchers acknowledge that because spinetail devil rays are long-lived and reproduce slowly, 10 years is likely too short to detect evolutionary changes in body size.
Researchers found that drift gill nets — the gear characteristic of small-scale fisheries in Thoothukudi — accounted for 98.9% of all mobulid landings.

“A Clear Watering Down”: Drug Transparency Bill Stripped of Critical Provisions Ahead of Senate Vote
Last year, a ProPublica investigation revealed that the U.S. kept importing generic drugs from foreign factories after inspectors had identified quality and safety lapses at the sites, including leaks, mold and contaminated water.
Current generic drug labels often include only the location of the packager or distributor, which can be thousands of miles away from the actual manufacturer.

EFF to Brazil’s ANPD: Data Privacy and Free Expression Must Underpin Platform Regulations
The Brazilian National Data Protection Agency (ANPD) plays a pivotal role in the regulation of digital platforms according to new legislation approved in Brazil.
Without that clarity, this could negatively impact beyond gaming and major platforms that are the main target of these regulations.
Here too, ANPD has a critical regulatory role after a Supreme Court’s decision and presidential decrees changed the liability regime initially set in the law known as “Marco Civil.”

Linux Kernel Race Condition Vulnerability
CISA added CVE-2025-39964, affecting Linux Kernel, to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.
Linux Kernel contains a race condition vulnerability which allows concurrent writes to the same AF_ALG socket causing data to be unpredictably interleaved and creating inconsistencies in the socket's internal state.
The catalog lists 2026-09-21 as the due date; that date had passed by this edition.

Hackers Got Inside a Flock Camera. Its Data Shows How the System Really Works
In Alpharetta, Georgia, for example, WIRED found that records from the city’s Flock cameras were accessible to more than 2,000 agencies, including police departments, colleges, airports, and, inexplicably, the Office of Inspector General for the federal General Services Administration.
The hackers said they were able to access the Android system on the camera and found two partitions—sections of its hard drive, essentially.

A worthwhile piece from beyond the usual orbit.
The lipidomic architecture of the mouse brain
Feature importance analysis found that predictive genes for 91% of 251 anatomical regions and 172 lipid pairs were enriched significantly for cell-type markers (one-sided permutation test, 2,000 permutations, BH-FDR < 0.05; Supplementary Fig. 8b,c).
This observation suggests that lipidomic profiling could contribute to building a scalable label-free proxy for connectivity mapping, and positions lipids as a meaningful new layer to interrogate brain function beyond gene expression.
Finally, separating adaptations that support maternal behaviour from those meeting fetal metabolic demands could reveal regulatory mechanisms specific to maternal-fetal neurometabolic interactions.
